Visual Diary – In November 2017, I started a daily art project which consists of making one handmade, original mixed media work every day, depicting a moment from my day. With this project, I raise questions about identity, what happens to intimacy once it is shared in the public sphere, the inconsistency of memory, and about the role of the artist in processing and healing psychological wounds.

I’m interested in preserving the initial impression, the first raw memory of an event, before the passing of time might alter and reshape my perception. Sometimes these works show simple events of everyday
life, at other times they share a deeply intimate experience. At times it’s challenging to reveal not only moments of happiness, beauty, success, but also moments that are uncomfortable, painful, or of which I’m ashamed.

Recording my daily events is like a ritual, a daily meditation to return to wherever I am. Doing this helps me to follow my personal developments, to go through changes, and to learn about the processes people around me are experiencing. The project truly becomes alive by deconstructing and sharing my personal life with others. I plan to continue this project every day for the rest of my life.

All the works from this project are the same size: 36cm x 28 cm.
Every day I share one new work on my Instagram page, and I have been exhibiting the originals in different stages, from the beginning of the project (in Berlin, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Valencia, Perth, Belgrade, Budapest, Subotica).
